Omniquad Desktop Surveillance is
a powerful Monitoring and Access Control tool. We offer
Desktop Surveillance Personal edition, which has been designed
with the home user in mind. This product allows you to supervise
and monitor web surfing, e-mail, chat rooms, game-play and
other activities taking place on your computer in your absence.
If you need to supervise the use of the computer by children
or some one else, use Desktop Surveillance!
The application runs as an invisible
agent, which unobtrusively captures keystrokes and records
screen contents for replay. The program also compiles activity
reports that will include all user activities: web sites,
chat rooms, newsgroups, games, files and folders. You can
view reports of the collected data at leisure when you are
back, or data can be immediately sent to you by e-mail or
FTP.
Key Benefits
Give access to the wealth of information
available on your computer and the Internet, while providing
a safety net. You can customise the system so that all the
information is within reach, while harmful content is inaccessible.
This means that other people can use your system while you
stay in control.
Why Desktop Surveillance Personal?
Know what your computer is used for in your absence
Prevent computer and Internet misuse
Protect children or young teenagers
Prevent misuse by blocking illicit
material or unwanted or harmful activities from your computer
and avoid exposure to undesired material.
Home users today want to ensure that
the family computer is not misused by accessing adult content,
chat rooms, private e-mail, online shopping, etc. Parents
want to restrict game play and Internet access, or have
control of what sites are accessed on the Internet. The
Internet offers access to things you do not want your children
exposed to, from pornography and violence, to chatting and
newsgroups. But if you are not there all the time supervising
them, nothing really keeps them from wandering into these
areas unsuspectingly or through curiosity.
With Desktop Surveillance Personal
you will know what your computer is used for, and you can
customise usage by blocking access, which means that you
can take control over how your system is used.
Key Features
Two Modes of operation
1. Misuse Prevention. - Users are aware of the system running.
It is commonly used to prevent unsolicited activities. A
custom message can be displayed for users and a permanent
icon can be displayed as a reminder that monitoring is in
progress.
2. Stealth Surveillance - for security
reasons, users are not aware of the system running. There
are no warning messages and the application name is also
removed from the Windows Task List.
Multiple Monitoring Facilities
VirtualVideo©
The VirtualVideo© is the software
equivalent of having a video camera trained on the users'
monitors, but without the need for any hardware. The recordings
are a series of screen captures, taken at predetermined
intervals, which are dated and grouped by user. These recordings,
presented in a slide show format, can be viewed in real
time or can be viewed at a later date. The recordings allow
you to see exactly what the user sees. This includes E-mail,
Chat Room and Web page content, Program Interfaces; error
messages, etc. Everything the user did can be played back.
Keystroke Scan
Keystroke Scan measure users' keyboard
activities. The Keystroke Scan reads the raw keystroke data
and logs the information in text-file. This type of recording
offers a foolproof way of keeping track of written work
on your computer. Typing any adult-related or user-specified
words on the keyboard can automatically prompt the VirtualVideo©
facility to turn itself on and start recording.
Smart Activity Log
The Smart Activity Log is an intelligent
textual logging tool that creates a text log of all activity
on a workstation. Smart Activity Logs store statistical
information about all activities taking place on any workstation,
Internet web site, application or document. Omniquad Desktop
Surveillance provides realistic information about users'
usage patterns as it differentiates between various loaded
applications and logs only the ones that have had user input.
Various activities also time-out when there is no input
for a specific period of time - stored information is automatically
adjusted. The statistical information stored in the Smart
Activity Logs can be used to analyse specific usage patterns.
The quantity of reports that can be generated from various
combinations of Activity Logs is almost unlimited.
Keystroke Triggers
These are based on the raw keystroke
data entered by a user. For example, you may want to start
recording when someone else than you types your password,
or when someone types a predefined illicit keyword. This
manner of triggering recordings offers a level of security
unique to Desktop Surveillance.
Adult Content Filtering
Content filtering is based on word-phrase
matching and will detect adult content when it is accessed,
without the need for updating blocking lists. The word-phrases
can be customised on per-group or per-user basis and include
undesirable material such as lottery or sports. The word-phrase
filtering can be fully customised and is active on all levels
and will not only cover Internet browsing, but also newsgroups
and Internet Relay Chat (IRC). When adult content is encountered,
several steps can be taken: it can be blocked, the administrator
can receive a network alert and the Virtual Video can be
turned on or the system can be shut down.
Blocking
Omniquad Desktop Surveillance is
capable of preventing the user from accessing adult content,
accessing banned web sites, loading specific applications
or documents, browsing specific folders in Windows Explorer
or even changing workstation configuration. - Virtually
any activity can be banned. The administrator can also train
the system and identify only permitted activities - the
user will be prevented from doing anything else. If necessary,
this can be limited only to the Internet, on pre-approved
business-related web sites. Users will no be able to load
any other web pages.
Lockdown
This enables you to automatic shut
down the computer when an event is triggered. For example,
if someone starts playing a game, or tries to access the
Internet, the Lockdown feature will ensure that your computer
shuts down. In order to gain access to the computer again,
a password must be entered.
