Other Features of Omniquad Enterprise Manager

1. Centralized Management, Reporting & Deployment

Control every level of functionality from one centralized management console, which can be run from one or mulitple locations. View detailed reports that show web usage, spyware detected and where, as well as hardware/software inventory reporting for each workstation, which can be instrumental in determining possible internal sources of malware infestations. The network administrator can login to the admin console and automatically deploy the client component across the network. A default policy is immediately activated on the agent computers even before specific policies are configured in detail for workstations. You can then schedule scans, define scan actions and distribute a customized policy set to all workstations. All policies you set are applied immediately without the need to do a system reboot and no user intervention.

2. Microsoft® Active Directory Support

Using the new MSI Installer package for Active Directory, you can efficiently deploy, uninstall or update the Desktop Control Client on any workstation, or group of workstations on your network, based on your current Active Directory configuration. Active Directory lets organizations efficiently share and manage information about network resources and users. In addition, Active Directory acts as the central authority for network security, letting the operating system readily verify a user's identity and control his or her access to network resources.

3. Deployment Assistant

This function allows admin to easily roll out the Desktop Control Client to all Windows 2000 and XP workstations from one central location. This also provides a version auto update and uninstall facility for complete management of clients. (An alternative to Microsoft® Active Directory)

Deployment Assistant now uses multiple threads during client operations. These make operations such as viewing multiple client server IP information faster than before.

  • New Auto Update. Via the EM console client computers can Auto Update their software versions. This is now triggered by user logon once enabled within Enterprise Manager.
  • New auto addition of client components to Win XP, SP2 Firewall exception list, eliminates any need for manual configuration.

4. Audit and Inventory Reporting

Generate reports on all hardware and software on every workstation

5. User Access Control

Create general or user/workstation specific policies to block any Windows application or function. Block Control Panel, Task Manager, Freecell, etc.

6. New Floating Policy support

Policy settings for each of the EM policy modules can now be inherited from a different policy (any nominated policy), which closely resembles the "Active Directory" methodology and gives great flexibility in setting policies among large numbers of clients.
